DREAMers on GROUNDS has three main purposes: to provide a safe space for DREAMers and Allies, to better the experiences of DREAMers, to inform the UVa and Greater Charlottesville community about the unique issues and challenges undocumented students undergo.

Presidents of Ohio’s public universities came together in December to draft and send a letter to their state representative Senator Brown. With President Trump’s executive orders causing a state of fear and uncertainty within immigrant communities, DREAMers on Grounds partnered with LSA to share love and stand in solidarity with immigrants across the country on Valentine’s Day. #ToImmigrantsWithLove is a nationwide social media campaign that allowed people to share their stories and their love.

House Bill 2000 (would prohibit any local area/city/etc from becoming a sanctuary space) passed through subcommittee and the full committee. We need people more than ever to organize and reach out to their legislators. Bill hearing was just moved to tomorrow (2/14) at 1:30pm (tentatively).
